What is B.A.S.E Daycare?

St. Monica is very happy to a part of the EMSB B.A.S.E. (Before and After School Enriched) Daycare Program. More than just a regular daycare, B.A.S.E daycare has a solid pedagogical component. It offers an entire range of unique activities for children outside regular teaching hours.  Each day, your child is immersed in a wholesome and nurturing environment designed to engage, and above all, have fun. Our animators help with homework, provide nutritional guidance and offer many activities not typically offered during the school day, like:

• radio and video production;
• journalism;
• sports activities;
• arts and crafts;
• cooking;
• creative writing;
• gardening in the St. Monica Garden; and  
• a myriad of other cultural and social activities.

How do I register to use daycare services?

In order to use St. Monica daycare, your child must be an enrolled student at St. Monica School and possess an English Eligibility Certificate. Children from outside St. Monica are not eligible. To register, please contact the school principal or our Daycare Coordinator, Angela Zambito, for more information.

Can I withdraw my child from daycare if my schedule changes?

Should you need to withdraw your child from daycare permanently, please inform the daycare administrator as soon as possible in writing. Should you have already paid your daycare fees for the month, an appropriate refund will be issued. Bear in  mind, however, that you will have to pay appropriate lunch supervision fees if you child will be staying at school during lunch. These fees will be pro-rated.

Please note that there are no refunds for occasional absences due to illness or extra-curricular activities.
